Lewis Miller
Lewis Edward Miller, 74, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 31, 2023, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his wife, children, and other loved ones.
Mr. Miller was born in Fisk, Missouri, June 21, 1949, to the late Lewis Paul and Genell (Cox) Miller.
Lewis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and son. Mr. Miller served with distinction in the U.S. Navy and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. After leaving the military, he had a long, distinguished career as a Physician Assistant. During his life, he mentored countless friends and loved ones in areas of career, self-improvement, and finances. He is remembered for his uncanny wisdom and strategy, which greatly benefited his loved ones. He also had a passion and precision for hunting, that he shared with his son and other relatives. Thirty-one years ago, his life changed forever when he met his wife, Jo Nell Miller of Poplar Bluff. Their marriage has been a beautiful partnership that has impacted every friend and relative, especially their kids. She survives.
Other survivors include one son, Lewis Paul (Tammy) Miller of Hampton, Arkansas; one daughter, Robin (Marc) Vail of Benton, Arkansas; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Sue Arons and Mary Kathryn Ludwig; one very special and loyal canine companion, Bailey.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents; several siblings, to include: Jesse Belt, Lonnie Belt, Lola Rivera, and Loana Hatfield.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2023, with Rev. John Harwell officiating. Burial will take place at Little Brushy Cemetery near Wappapello with full military honors present.
