Valarie Simon
Valarie Denise Simon, 68, of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023, peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones.
Valarie was born Oct. 26, 1954 to John and Suezella Fisher in Roseburg, Oregon. Valarie attended high school at Sandpoint High in Sandpoint, Idaho.
On March 24, 1972, she married the love of her life Duane Simon. Together they raised two children, John Simon and Adina Simon. Valarie and Duane moved to Missouri in 1977 where they thrived as entrepreneurs building and owning four successful businesses in the Poplar Bluff area until they moved to Biloxi, Mississippi in 2010.
Valarie’s wit, grace, eloquence, and intelligence brought success to everything she did. Never one to be idle, in addition to being a successful business woman, Valarie pursued secondary education, was an avid reader, and enjoyed doing puzzles.
Valarie is survived by her mother, Suezella Fisher; husband, Duane; children, John, and Adina; sister Chrystal Yarbrough; brother, Mark Fisher; grandchildren, Alexis (squeaky) Grimont, Denise Simon, Kayla Simon, Ellianna Simon; great-grandchildren, Rylynn Grimont and Kinsley Grimont.
A celebration of life gathering will be held Oct. 26. The family would ask that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in her name to further research for a cure.
