Dal Morris
Dal C. Morris, son of the late Chester Hoover Morris and Audrey Jean (Keeney) Morris, was born Nov. 8, 1951 in Van Buren, Missouri and departed this life July 8, 2023 with his loving wife by his side. He had attained the age of 71 years and eight months.
Dal had a passion for singing praises and worship to the Lord and playing guitar. He knew no strangers; talking to everyone he met like they were his best friend. In the past 13 years, while transporting patients to and from their doctor’s appointments, he led numerous people to Christ.
On Oct. 18. 1990, he arranged to marry Phyllis Bruffey on the stage of the Ryman Auditorium (Grand Ole Opry) in Nashville, Tennessee without ever proposing to her.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his daughter, Rebekah Sommers and her husband, Josh; his son, Nick Morris and grandson, Collin Morris; one brother, Terry Morris and wife, Rose; sister-in-law, Regina Morris; brother-in-law, Al Ramirez; sister-in-law, Patricia Bruffey-Thoene; and mother-in-law, Dimple Bruffey Paper ,as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, Dal was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lillia Grace Morris; niece, Bethany (Morris) Kolintzas; sister, Irene Ramirez and brother, Jeff Morris.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2023, in the McSpadden Funeral Home in Van Buren with the funeral services being held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2023 in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Ronnie Webb and Rev. Debbie Bradley will officiate. Burial will be in the Van Buren City Cemetery in Van Buren.
