An employee at Orscheln Farm Store at 2235 North Westwood Blvd reported at 7:27 a.m. Monday, June 19, there was an abandoned silver 2003 Ford Focus in the parking lot.

An employee at Dollar General at 903 Hwy 53 reported at 8:34 a.m. Monday, June 19, that a white male stole an alcoholic beverage and left the store before the police were notified. The store refused to press charges but asked that officers locate him and ban him from the store.

An employee at Empire Comfort Systems at 2450 South 11th St. reported at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 19, that a white male stole scrap metal from a bin behind their building.

Jonas Duckett reported at 11:26 a.m. Monday, June 19, that a white female had been staying in his camper while it was parked at Bluff Self Storage at 1103 South 11th St. Duckett did not want to press charges but told the suspect not to return.

An employee at Tio’s Mexican Restaurant at 1135 Herschel Bess Blvd. reported at noon Monday, June 19, that a male subject entered the business and stole a 6-pack of beer and gumball machine.

An employee reportedt 12:20 p.m. Monday, June 19, that someone damaged the A/C unit at a rental property in the 200 block of North Eighth Street.

Officers responded at 1:08 p.m. Monday, June 19, to the intersection of Bradley Street at Apple Street for a report of shots fired. Witnesses reported a black male in a tan sport utility vehicle fired several rounds from the vehicle. No injury or damage was reported.

Shannon Payne reported at 3:20 p.m. Monday, June 19, that on June 16 someone placed a bucket over her head while she was at Walmart Supercenter at 333 South Westwood Blvd. Payne said the incident caused her physical injury and she wanted to press charges if the assailant was identified.

An employee at Rhodes 101 at 3111 Oak Grove Road reported at 6:05 p.m. Monday, June 19, that a black male stole liquor from the business two consecutive nights, a total of six bottles. The thefts were captured on surveillance video.

Merl Morgan, 56, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 7:39 p.m. Monday, June 19, during a traffic stop in the 700 block of East Pine Street. Morgan was booked in on Poplar Bluff municipal warrants for failure to appear on stealing and driving without a license with a $1,000 bond and he was released on his own recognizance. Morgan was issued traffic tickets for driving while suspended or revoked, no insurance and improper registration.

Julie McCranie reported at 7:48 p.m. Monday, June 19, that an adult male came to her residence and threatened her in violation of a protection order. Efforts to contact the suspect failed and the matter was referred to the Butler County Prosecutor.

Alexis Grogan reported at 9:31 p.m. Monday, June 19, someone broke into her friend’s residence in the 800 block of Hart Street.

Dustin Politte reported at 10:20 p.m. Monday, June 19, he was assaulted by two juvenile males in the parking lot at the Winning Circle at 124 North 10th St. Politte suffered moderate injury during the assault and was taken by ambulance to the emergency room.

Crystal Rulo reported at 10:25 p.m. Monday, June 19, that her boyfriend assaulted her during an argument as they left their residence in the 900 block of Gardner Street. Efforts to locate the suspect failed and the matter was referred to the Butler County Prosecutor.

Officers responded at 10:43 p.m. on Monday, June 19, to a report of shots fired into a residence in the 700 block of South Ninth Street. No injury was reported.
