In less than two months, Friday Night Lights will be back across the region as high school football will be kicking off.
Poplar Bluff, Doniphan, Dexter and Malden have released their footballs schedules for the upcoming season and the action starts on Aug. 25.
On opening night, Poplar Bluff will host Park Hills Central while Dexter hosts Scott City. Doniphan is on the road at Kelly with Malden playing at Caruthersville.
The Mules have a difficult stretch from Sept. 8- Sept. 22 when they have three district foes in a row with the first of the three coming on the road at Cape Central. Poplar Bluff will then host Jackson (Sept. 15) and then host the Bulldogs of Sikeston (Sept. 22).
Also on Sept. 22, the Doniphan Dons will host the Dexter Bearcats in a Ozark Foothills Conference matchup.
In the final week of the season, the Mules host Hillsboro while Dexter hosts Malden. Doniphan will take on the Rams in Scott City. Area teams are already underway this summer preparing for the season as we’re only a couple of months away from football lighting up our Friday nights.
