Officers responded at 6:56 a.m. Monday, May 29, to a report of shots fired in the 300 block of McKinley Street. Rosalind Marks reported someone broke a window at her residence on McKinley Street just before two gunshots were heard outside.

A wallet was found abandoned in the 1300 block of Susan Avenue at 7:46 a.m. Tuesday, May 30. The wallet was returned to its owner, who said it had been stolen from her car while it was parked at a residence in the same area.

Alex Frey reported at 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, a white 2018 Hyundai passenger vehicle stolen from the driveway of his residence in the 2600 block of Shady Lane. The car was later found abandoned in a wooded area near Morrison Road.

Holly Walker reported at 8:19 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, a pistol was stolen from her car while it was parked at her residence in the 2600 block of Linda Street.

Angela Eskridge, 51, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested at 9:42 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, at the Probation/Parole Community Supervision Center at 1441 Black River Industrial Park Rd. Eskridge was booked in on a Stoddard County warrant for failure to appear on possession of a controlled substance with a $500 cash-only bond and she was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Freddie Campbell reported at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, the steering column of his vehicle was damaged while it was parked at his residence in the 1800 block of Sunset Drive.

Patrick Oxley reported at 10:58 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, the tires on his car were damaged while it was parked in the 1000 block of Kinzer Street.

Michael Melvin, 24, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested at 10:53 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, at an apartment at 445 N. Second St. Melvin was booked in on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and Wayne County warrants for failure to appear on possession of dangerous drugs with no bond and contempt of court no bond. He was lodged in the Butler County jail.

An employee at South Central Community Action Agency reported at 12:01 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, the license plates were stolen from a van while it was parked at their facility at 1716 South Broadway.

Jarret Ward reported at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, his wallet was missing, and a fraudulent charge was made to his debit card.

Aron Atkisson, 22, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested at 3:47 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, during a traffic stop on South Sixth Street. Atkisson was booked in on a Butler County warrant for stealing with a $500 bond and he was lodged in the Butler County jail.

An adult male and two juveniles were found trespassing at 8:26 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, behind the Manor Nursing Home in the 2900 block of Morrison. The suspects were warned against trespassing and were released at the scene. An employee later found a backpack with a pistol, an extra magazine and loose ammunition inside.

Several adults and juveniles were cited at 9:28 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, for trespassing on the lot at Menard’s at 3105 Oak Grove Road.

William King reported at 1:02 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, two adult male acquaintances confronted him in the 100 block of Riverview and threatened him with a knife. The suspects left the scene before the police were called.
