Dominica Birkenmeister, 41, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 12:34 p.m. Monday, May 29, at Happy Mart at 1800 S. Broadway. Birkenmeister was booked in on a Butler County warrant for passing a bad check and she was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Kerr’s Express, 2930 N. Westwood Blvd., reported at 3:13 pm Monday, May 29, an adult male presented a fake ID to buy alcohol. The employee confronted the suspect and he fled the store. The ID was seized and placed into evidence.

Joseph Holman, 48, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 6:20 p.m. Monday, May 29, during a traffic stop in the 1100 block of North Main Street. Holman was booked in on Butler County warrants for failure to appear on traffic offenses, Poplar Bluff municipal warrants for failure to appear on traffic offenses and possession of methamphetamine. He was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Robert Routt reported at 6:44 p.m. Monday, May 29, a neighbor flourished a pistol and threatened to shoot him. The neighbor left the scene before the police were called, according to the report.

Officers responded at 8:22 p.m. Monday, May 29, to Southeast Missouri Residential Services at 2511 Sunset Terrace for a report that a resident suffering a mental health crisis was attacking a caregiver. The resident threatened to kill himself and others, and held the victim by her hair, according to the report. Efforts to calm the resident failed, and he refused to release her. An officer warned the resident that he would be tazed if he did not release her, and he allgedly told the officer “Go ahead, that won’t do anything.” The resident was tazed and he released the victim, police reported. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital for evaluation without further incident.

Heaven Herron reported at 9:33 p.m. Monday, May 29, she was assaulted by her boyfriend at their residence in the 800 block of Dewey Street. The suspect left the area before the police were notified, and Herron left the residence for the night. This matter was referred to the Butler County prosecutor.

Officers responded at 9:47 p.m. Monday, May 29, to a residence in the 200 block of East Midland Street for a domestic disturbance. Two adult males said they had been fighting, according to the report. One of the males had minor injuries, but neither wanted to press charges.

Brett McCoy, 19, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 9:56 p.m. Monday, May 29, after a short motor vehicle pursuit on Oak Grove Road. McCoy was booked in on charges of endangering the welfare of a child (felony), resisting arrest, trespassing and several traffic offenses. He was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Eather Simpson reported at 12:39 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, her motorcycle had been struck while it was parked in the 700 block of Cynthia Street.

James Civils, 54, of Poplar Bluff was booked at 6:19 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, at the police department on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on driving while revoked or suspended. Civils was unable to post bond and he was released on his own recognizance.
