An employee at Empire Comfort Systems at 2450 S. 11th St. reported at 8:10 a.m. on Thursday, May 11, scrap metal was stolen from bins on their property.

Elizabeth Hart, 46, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 9:12 a.m. Thursday, May 11, at the probation/parole community supervision center at 1441 Black River Industrial Park Road. Hart was booked in on a St. Francois County warrant for failure to appear on charges of forgery with a $2,000 bond and she was lodged in the Butler County jail.

An employee at Menard’s reported at 10:24 a.m. on Thursday, May 11, two white males stole tools from the store between April 3 and April 10. The thefts were captured on surveillance video.

Richard Simmers, 45, of Poplar Bluff was booked at 10:41 a.m. Thursday, May 11, on a Poplar Bluff Municipal warrant for failure to appear on a traffic offense, and he was released on bond.

An employee at Poplar Bluff Middle School reported at 10:50 a.m. Thursday, May 11, a THC vaping device was seized from a juvenile student on May 10. The device was placed into evidence, and the matter was referred to the Juvenile Office.

Officers with the Poplar Bluff Police Department assisted in the pursuit of a stolen vehicle at 11:07 a.m. Thursday, May 11, as it entered Poplar Bluff city limits on South Westwood Boulevard. The vehicle left city limits on East Pine Street.

Taylor Boles reported at 11:40 a.m. Thursday, May 11, his wife refused to give him custody of their child in violation of a protection order.

Ricky Tropf, 42, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 2:22 p.m. Thursday, May 11, at his residence in the 800 block of Kinzer Street. Tropf was booked in on a charge of stealing and he was released pending review by the Butler County prosecutor.

Victoria Roberts reported at 2:43 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, her juvenile son received threatening texts from another juvenile. The juvenile suspect’s guardian was contacted and the matter was referred to the Juvenile Office.

Jamie Carter, 46, of Poplar Bluff was booked at the police department at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, May 11, on Poplar Bluff Municipal warrants for failure to appear on two counts of stealing and a traffic offense. She was released on bond.

Jolene Ellis reported at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, her juvenile daughter had been harassed by another juvenile. This information was forwarded to the school district and the juvenile office.

Bill Pettypool reported at 4:36 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, a motorcycle had been stolen from his residence in the 900 block of North Street.

Levi Faughn, 22, of Piedmont was booked at the police department at 6:36 p.m. Thursday, May 11, on a Poplar Bluff Municipal warrant for failure to appear on possession of marijuana. Faughn was unable to post bond and he was released on his own recognizance.

Officers pursued a white passenger vehicle at 12:14 a.m. Thursday, May 12, after the driver refused to pull over for a traffic violation on Highway 53. The pursuit was terminated when the suspect vehicle crossed into Arkansas on County Road 278.

An adult female reported at 2:51 a.m. Thursday, May 12, her boyfriend assaulted her and threatened her with a handgun during an argument at her residence on South Ninth Street. The suspect left before the police department was called.
