At 8:10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, a motor home was found abandoned in a wooded area on Pike Street at Henry Street. The vehicle blocked Union Pacific Railroad access to their tracks, and it was impounded and towed from the scene.

At 8:55 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, an employee at Menard’s at 3105 Oak Grove Road reported a white male stole tools valued at $857.

Amber Abbott, 30, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, at a residence in the 300 block of North G Street. Abbott was booked in on a Poplar Bluff Municipal warrant for trespassing with a $500 bond. Abbott was unable to post bond and she was released on her own recognizance.

At 2:58 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, Zea Hawley reported her white 2001 Ford Escape was stolen from Poplar Bluff Mini Storage at 251 Hwy 53 on Feb. 14.

At 6:03 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, officers responded to Walmart Supercenter at 333 South Westwood Blvd. for a report of a drug overdose in the men’s restroom. The victim was treated by EMS and left the property.

At 6:10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, Ronald Burgess, 38, of Poplar Bluff, was booked in at the Poplar Bluff Police Department on a New Madrid County warrant for failure to appear on driving while intoxicated with a $390.50 cash only bond. Burgess was lodged in the Butler County jail.

At 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, officers responded to the area of North 14th Street at Sunset Drive for reports of a person suffering a mental health crisis and cutting themselves. One of the callers convinced the victim to stop prior to officer arrival, and the victim was transported by ambulance to the emergency room.

At 8:27 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, Joshua Gilmore, 38, of Broseley, was booked in at the police department on a Poplar Bluff Municipal warrant for failure to appear on driving while intoxicated with $250 bond. Gilmore was unable to post bond, and he was released on his recognizance.

At 9:09 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, officers responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 1300 block of Nooney Street. No injury was reported, and neither party wanted to press charges.

At 10:09 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, officers responded to a residence in the 2000 block of Schweitzer Road for a person suffering a mental health crisis. EMS refused to transport the victim, and the victim was taken by patrol car to the emergency room for evaluation.

At 11:14 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, Krystal Gardner, 36, of Naylor, was arrested during a traffic stop on South Broadway. Gardner was booked in on a Ripley County warrant for a weapon violation $25,000 bond and she was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Miracle Williams, 26, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested at 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, at his residence in the 1600 block of South 14th Street. Williams was booked in on charges of domestic assault 4th degree and violation of an order of protection and he was lodged in the Butler County jail.

At 4:42 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, John Faughn, 47, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested at Whiteley Park. Faughn was booked in on Poplar Bluff Municipal warrants for failure to appear on traffic offenses with a $500 bond. Faughn was unable to post bond, and he was released on his own recognizance.

At 8:07 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, an employee at Poplar Bluff High School reported a juvenile student was seen using a THC vaping device in class. Two THC vaping devices were found in his backpack and were given to a school resource officer. The devices were placed into evidence and the matter was referred to the Juvenile Office.

At 9:38 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, a blue 2004 Mitsubishi sport utility vehicle was impounded and towed from a traffic stop after it was determined the vehicle was not registered or insured. The driver was issued a ticket for no insurance and released at the scene.

At 3:44 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, an employee at Poplar Bluff Middle School reported that a juvenile student threatened to bring a firearm to school during an argument with another student. The juvenile suspect’s parents were contacted and the matter was referred to the Juvenile Office.

At 4:28 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, Melvin Loness reported three black males confronted him at his residence in the 400 block of Short A Street. A crowbar was thrown through a glass front door of the residence and the suspects left in a silver car before the police were called. Loness did not know any of the suspects.

At 8:37 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, Linda Day and Paige Earls reported an adult male broke into their residence in the 1400 block of North 12th Street.

At 9:23 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, officers responded to the 800 block of West Vine Street for a person suffering a mental health crisis. The person was transported by ambulance to the emergency room for evaluation.
