Robert “Bob” Harwell, 74, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away Nov. 22 in his home. Bob was born Sept. 10, 1948, to Columbus Veston and Mary Virginia Harwell (Burton), who preceded him in passing. Bob had a brother, Gene, and sister, Donna Keifer. Both preceding him in passing. ...

Robert “Bob” Harwell, 74, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away Nov. 22 in his home.

Bob was born Sept. 10, 1948, to Columbus Veston and Mary Virginia Harwell (Burton), who preceded him in passing. Bob had a brother, Gene, and sister, Donna Keifer. Both preceding him in passing. Bob has three surviving children, Robert (Tammy) Harwell of Poplar Bluff, Paula (Kenneth) Barker of Fairdealing, Missouri, and Jeff (Patricia) Harwell of Festus, Missouri, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, and many family and friends, including his wonderful friend, Sharon, and his ‘step’ granddaughter, Emma, who meant the world to him.

Bob retired from Crescent Parts and Supply, where he had worked for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Beer Cans and Antlers Hunting Club, a 36-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3730 in Poplar Bluff, and a lifetime member of the NRA.

Over his lifetime, he enjoyed bowling, playing softball, camping, fishing, and hunting, and drinking beer and playing cards with his friends. Later in life, he enjoyed the company of those near him, his family and friends at Eagles, horse racing, and Country and Bluegrass Music, especially the music of Billy Strings, of late. He was particularly proud to be a great-grandpa.

There will be a viewing at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar St., Poplar Bluff, Dec. 2, 5 - 7 p.m., 5- 5:30 p.m. for family and close friends. There will be a dinner at 7 p.m. at the Eagles located at 1400 S. Broadway in Poplar Bluff.

The family will meet at the funeral home Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at 11 a.m. to go to City Cemetery for burial.
