“We were able to prevail upon his good nature, and he’s going to be there because he wanted to see the Poplar Bluff kids,” said Rodgers Theatre, Inc. President Wally Duncan.

The historic theater will accept donations towards its ongoing restoration during the event. The annual screening is the Rodger’s way of kicking off the Christmas season and giving back to the community who supports it.

“We wanted to give children and their parents something to do on the Friday after [Thanksgiving], maybe after a day of shopping, to come out and enjoy a couple of classic movies...and also to be able to have a visit with Santa Claus,” Duncan said.

The Rodgers Theatre is located at 204 N. Broadway St.
