Pauletta Burns, 61, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Nov. 17, 2022 at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Mrs. Burns was born Dec. 5, 1960 in Poplar Bluff, MO. She was the coordinator of academic and student services for Southeast Missouri State University on the Three Rivers Community College Campus in Poplar Bluff. Pauletta held two master’s degrees in addition to her bachelor’s degree and had worked in higher education for more than 32 years.
She enjoyed camping, baking and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She was a member of Green Forest Church of Christ in Poplar Bluff.
On Jan. 17, 1981, she married Dewayne Burns. They were married 41 years prior to her passing.
Other survivors include her brother, Lonnie (Dawn) Hanner of Poplar Bluff; sisters, Norma Jean (Joe) Calhoun of Jonesboro and Donna (Rick) Holden of Poplar Bluff; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Galey and Wilma (Arnold) Hanner; brother, Ronnie Hanner; and sister, Carolyn Sue Luttrell.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2022 at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Adam Noles officiating. Burial will be at Hosea Cemetery, Knobel.
