The Kennett Humane Department was recently notified about a very unique fundraiser one local man is starting, all in the name of Pups.

John Churchwell, former Dunklin County Juvenile Officer contacted Kennett Humane Officer Tena Petix to advise he was beginning to get things in order for a very unique idea, all to raise money which he will donate to the Kennett Humane Department.

“I just thought about how neat it would be to grow some ground coverage, beginning to first of the growth process in s high heel shoe, hence the name, ‘pumps for paws’,” Churchwell said. “I will be selling these high heel pumps with ground cover already growing inside of the shoe. I will then give the proceeds to Tena at the humane department,” he added.

Kennett Humane Officer Tena Petix said that Churchwell’s idea is so unique and exciting. “I hope the community will come together and buys these things to help out an awesome cause,” Petix stated. “We are always happy when we learn that someone is doing something in an effort to give to us here at KHD. And this idea is so unique and wonderful,” she added.
