Mary Beth Foster, 74, of Battlefield, Missouri, passed away Sept. 7, 2022, in Springfield, Missouri, at Cox South Hospital.
Mary Beth was born in DuQuoin, Illinois, to John Wesley Gibbs and Rosemary Reed Gibbs.
She graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, in 1966 and attended Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, Arkansas. Mary Beth then went on to work for South Western Bell Telephone, Southern Missouri Savings and Loan and Municipal Utilities Billing office.
Mary Beth married the love of her life Henry Foster on Nov. 9, 1968, and celebrated 53 wonderful years together. To this union were born two children, Lori Jo Wolper and John Reed Foster.
Mary Beth’s parents, John and Rosemary Gibbs, grandparents, and several aunts and uncles preceded her in death.
Mary Beth is survived by her husband, Henry, daughter, Lori (Foster) Wolper, son, John Reed Foster, sister, Becky Heffington, and grandchildren, Philip and Clara Wolper.
She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, traveling, watching sports and going on vacation with her friends. She loved her family and friends deeply.
Mary Beth will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022, at 10:30 AM, at Christ Episcopal Church, 601 E. Walnut, Springfield, Missouri.
A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022, at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral Home, 110 Iron Bridge Road, Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Services will begin at 11 a.m. and burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Memorial contributions may be given to Christ Episcopal Church Outreach Ministries, 601 E. Walnut, Springfield, Mo. 65806.
