Two people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on Highway B east of Poplar Bluff, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Two people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on Highway B east of Poplar Bluff, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

According to the report, a 16-year-old girl from Poplar Bluff was operating a 2008 Chevrolet HHR northbound at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday when it pulled into the path of an eastbound 2014 Chevrolet Captiva operated by Sheryl C. McElhaney, 67, Poplar Bluff. McElhaney‘s Captiva then hit the side of the Chevrolet HHR.

The 16-year-old girl was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, while McElhaney was airlifted to St. Louis University Hospital.
