Elmer Ray (Fudd) Capper, 74, of Poplar Bluff went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022 surrounded by family.
Elmer was born Nov. 20, 1947, to William and Nona (Wilson) Capper, in Qulin, Missouri the youngest of eight children.
On March 21, 1970 he married Sheila Ann (Skaggs) still of the home.
Elmer is also survived by his children: Tammie Bumpus, Carl Capper and son-in-law Robert Bumpus; three granddaughters: Maryia Powell, Brianna Capper and Zhoe Bumpus; two great-grandsons: Leo Capper and Lance Hancock, all of Poplar Bluff; two sisters: Shirley Hall of Grandin, Pauline (Jim) Brewer of Fairdealing, MO, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; four sisters, Velma Jenkins, Ilene Williams, Berthie Wyatt and Mary Mitchell; one brother, Junior Capper and his precious baby girl, Lauren Elizabeth Capper.
Elmer is a Vietnam Veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge #209 of Poplar Bluff.
He enjoys horseback riding, hunting, fixing things, watching westerns and family time.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2022. A Masonic Service will be held at 1 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service (Willie Darnell officiating) and a Military Burial, all to be held at Kern’s Chapel Church, Stringtown.
Memorials can be made in honor of Elmer to Kern’s Chapel Church.
