Like many of you, I was troubled and stunned at the developments in Florida this week. Using tactics rarely seen in this country, and more suited for banana republics, federal agents raided President Trump’s home in Palm Beach, Florida. The Biden administration’s politically-motivated raid shocked our conscience. The dozens of agents who swarmed the residence didn’t even allow the President’s lawyers to be in the home during the search.
Agents then spent all day rummaging through personal belongings, including the former first lady’s wardrobe. There was no reason for the intrusion as the President was fully cooperating with their supposed probe of documents taken from the White House. This is a miscarriage of justice and I implore not just Republicans and Trump supporters, but all Americans who believe in due process and Constitutional protections to rise up and make their voices heard. How utterly grateful I am that Merrick Garland was not confirmed a Supreme Court Justice. The FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago confirms our worst fears of partisan political injustice.
I would like to thank all the voters in the new 152nd district for their support in last week’s primary. I appreciate the trust of the 3,255 friends and neighbors who took the time to mark my name on the ballot. In my next term, fighting for the unborn, for our right to bear arms and for the issues of concern to our district will continue to be my legislative priorities. I will also continue to do my best to cut through red tape to help citizens navigate state agencies and departments. It is an honor and privilege to have this vote of confidence and to continue representing you in Jefferson City.
I have been able to accomplish several items in the General Assembly, and I look forward to getting even more done as a member of leadership. I am currently one of four Republican legislators running for the position of House Majority Whip. The party whip directs the support of party members for the party’s programs and objectives. The whip is an ex officio member of all committees and like other members of leadership it wields considerable influence over legislation.
Since announcing my candidacy I have traveled across the state to meet with current and future GOP members of the legislature. I also plan to meet many new state representatives this weekend at the summer caucus in Branson. I am optimistic about my chances of being elected in November to this important post.
May God bless and keep you and our great nation.
