The Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees recognized the hospital’s hardworking staff and volunteers Thursday morning.
Board Chairman Phil Santie, member Dr. John Blaich and hospital CEO Rick Naegler unveiled a plaque which reads “We will never forget your many hours of hard work and dedication, going above and beyond in selfless service and sacrifice to provide care during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
According to Santie, since 2020 PBRMC has:
- Cared for over 1,200 COVID patients
- Released 700-plus COVID-19 survivors (This number reflects those treated solely on the campus and not the total number of recoveries)
- Treated over 1,100 patients with monoclonal antibodies
- Distributed over 1,400 vaccine doses
- Performed more than 22,000 patient screenings
- Treated 262,000 patients with non-COVID ailments
“We are immensely proud of our hospital, and of all of you who have done a tremendous job caring for our patients, supporting each other and navigating the unforeseen challenges of the global pandemic,” he said.
