A man sits in the Butler County jail after he allegedly engaged in sex acts with an underage girl.
Kenneth R. Vass, 49, of the 3500 block of Highway B, faces three Class D felony charges of second degree statutory sodomy. Each charge is punishable by up to four years in prison.
According to the probable cause statement by Butler County Sheriff’s Investigator Eddie Holloway, a woman came to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office July 8 to report sexual abuse of a 15-year-old relative.
The woman told deputies she found nude photos of the teen on a tablet, and when questioned, the girl said Vass had directed her to take them. After more questioning, the girl said she had also previously engaged in sex acts with him, according to reports.
The woman then provided Holloway with the tablet and showed him several photos on the tablet that allegedly corroborated her story.
A forensic interview was conducted with the niece later on July 8 at the Great Circle Child Advocacy Center. According to law enforcement, she confirmed Vass had forced her to perform sex acts on him and take nude photos of herself.
After he was taken into custody, Vass denied the allegations. Deputies say he refused to allow Holloway to search his cellular phone.
Vass currently is being held without bond in the Butler County jail. He was arraigned Monday at the Butler County Courthouse.
