NEELYVILLE, Mo. — Doris Inez Blagg of Corning, Arkansas died Jan. 24, 2022 at her home. She was 105 years. She was born at home near Fairdealing, Missouri, May 6, 1916. Her father was Grover Nicholas Notter. Her mother was Eva Laura (Ormsby) Notter. As her mother was a school teacher, Doris attended several schools in Missouri: Ormsby (Backwoods), Rock Hill, Green and Naylor. She also attended school in Decatur, Illinois...

NEELYVILLE, Mo. — Doris Inez Blagg of Corning, Arkansas died Jan. 24, 2022 at her home. She was 105 years.

She was born at home near Fairdealing, Missouri, May 6, 1916. Her father was Grover Nicholas Notter. Her mother was Eva Laura (Ormsby) Notter. As her mother was a school teacher, Doris attended several schools in Missouri: Ormsby (Backwoods), Rock Hill, Green and Naylor. She also attended school in Decatur, Illinois.

She married Walter (n) Blagg on June 29, 1935 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri with the Rev. Freeman officiating. To this marriage seven children were born. The family lived on a farm at Taft, Missouri then they moved to a cotton farm just north of Neelyville, Missouri.

After her husband died, Doris moved to Corning, Arkansas in 1970 where she worked at Basler Electric until she was age 74. After living on a cotton farm and having seven children, she felt as if she was on vacation while she worked at a factory.

Her greatest pleasure in life was raising her children. She also enjoyed piecing quilts.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Nicholas Edward Notter and Fanny (Horton) Notter, and by her maternal grandparents: Thomas Jefferson Ormsby and Archie Paralee (McDaniel) Ormsby. She was also preceded in death by five of her children; Walter Clay Blagg, Franklin Cole Blagg, Mona Alvern Blagg Smith, Herbert Lynn Bland and Danny Wade Blagg. Also preceded in death were two grandsons: Jackie Smith and Frank Blagg Jr. She was also preceded in death by two sisters; Francis Leah Bruner and Frieda Nadine Hower.

She is survived by a son, Grover Leon Blagg (Beverly) of Willow Springs, Missouri, and a daughter, Debra Darlene Blagg Dawsey of Corning, Arkansas. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by one sister, Verneal Hyde of Naylor

Visitation and funeral will be at 1-3 p.m., Jan. 29, 2022 at the Fowler and Sons funeral home in Neelyville, Missouri. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Jan. 29, 2022. She will be buried beside her husband in Kinsey Cemetery.
