VAN BUREN, Mo. — Eldon Leon Chatman, 77, of Ellsinore, Missouri passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021.
He was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, May 16, 1944, to the late Uel Travis Chatman and Velma Lee (Uhl) Moore
On Jan. 1, 1994, he was united in marriage to Punky Hobbick in Blytheville, Arkansas.
Eldon was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a kind man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, gardening, and spending time with his family. Eldon was a veteran of the United States Army where he proudly served his country.
Eldon is survived by his wife, Punky Audrey Chatman, of the home; two sons, Joe Chatman, Cole Chatman and wife Natalie; three stepsons, Jerry Hobbick and wife, Kellie, Robb Hobbick and wife, Tami, William Hobbick, and a stepdaughter, Lana Swanson; two grandsons, Landon Chatman and Thomas Chatman and nine-step-grandchildren; Jonah, Hannah, Ryan, Nikki, Allison, James, Jake, Breanna, and William; two-step great-grandsons, Bentley and Levi; one brother, Kenny Chatman and a sister, Norma, as well as many other relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, Eldon was preceded in death by his sister, Fern Chatman, his brothers, Calvin Chatman and Jimmy Chatman.
A committal service will be held on Jan. 5, 2022, at 2 p.m. with military honors.
