Barry and Joyce Stahl will celebrate their golden anniversary Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021. Fifty years ago that day they were married in Puxico, Joyce’s hometown. She is the daughter of the late L.D. and Ruby (Franks) Eskew.
Barry, the son of the late Finis and Wilma (Rodgers) Stahl is from Ellsinore, where the couple has lived since their wedding except for the time spent in Cape Girardeau attending Southeast Missouri State University.
Joyce is a retired teacher. She taught kindergarten and high school history, physical education and health. Barry served almost two years in the U.S. Army and worked in education, too. He was a coach, a driver’s ed teacher and a high school principal. He also has been an insurance agent.
The Stahls have four children whose families live in the Carter County/Ellsinore area: Matthew and Sara (Hoefer) Stahl, Benjamin and Amy (Brame) Stahl, Zack and Martha (Stahl) Price and Tyler and Britney (Peterson) Stahl. They have 10 grandchildren and one on the way.
Both are members of the Ozark Ridge Golf Course. Playing golf and caring for grandchildren are their hobbies. Barry also enjoys hunting. Joyce attends New Hope General Baptist Church.
