Deputies responded at 3:50 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, to a report of an alarm sounding at the Elks Lodge off Highway 67 North. They found a garage door had been pried open and was damaged.

Nicholas M. Anderson, 31, of the 700 block of Mary Street was booked Monday, Dec. 13, at the Butler County jail on three failure to appear warrants for peace disturbance, third-degree domestic assault and unlawful use of a weapon, and on a warrant for damage to jail property.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT

Tracy Edington at Money Mizer reported at 9:17 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, that someone pumped $20 worth of gasoline and left without paying for it.

John Wilhem reported on Sunday, Dec. 12, his 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche was stolen from an unspecified address on Cedar Street.

Kristin Coons, 27, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 3:29 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine. She was booked at the Butler County jail.

Officers responded at 3:52 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, to the 600 block of Apple Street, where it was reported a black BMW and a green Ford pickup exchanged gunfire. A resident of Oakwood Drive reported someone parked a BMW in front of their residence and fled on foot. A short time later, Lonnie Moss Jr. 26, of Poplar Bluff was arrested on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Steve Kimbrel, 32 of Wappapello was arrested at 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, in the 500 block of South Ninth Street on suspicion of first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle and two Stone County failure to appear warrants for obstructing and stealing leased property. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Adam Huff, 32, of Wappapello was arrested at 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, in the 500 block of South Ninth Street on suspicion of second-degree tampering with a motor vehicle. He later was released.

A resident of the 300 block of North D Street reported at 6:37 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, that someone had kicked in the rear door of his/her apartment.

POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT

Firefighters responded at 2:05 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, to an alarm at 10 Box, 1301 Shelby Road. Upon arrival, they found no fire and attempted to contact the key holder to reset the alarm.

Firefighters were called at 7:56 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, 3100 Oak Grove Road, where they were asked by police to remove handcuffs off an individual in the emergency department. They used bolt cutters to do so.

Firefighters responded at 6:05 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, to the Poplar Bluff Middle School, 1300 Victory Lane, where an alarm was sounding. It was determined an employee accidentally hit the pull station.

Firefighters responded at 5:11 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, to Northwest Medical Center, 2210 Barron Road, where an alarm was sounding. There was no fire and building staff reported the system was under maintenance.

Firefighters responded at 3:57 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, to a vehicle accident at 400 E. Pine St. They checked for injuries and assisted EMS crews with loading a patient.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

A 26-year-old man sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 3:20 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, on Highway B, four miles east of Poplar Bluff.

According to the report, Jeffery J. Jernigan, 21, of Cardwell was operating a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox eastbound when it attempted to pass an eastbound 2011 Jeep Patriot operated by Bobby L. Martin, 26, of Poplar Bluff, colliding with Martin’s vehicle.

Martin was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
