CAMPBELL, Mo. — Hillis C. Borders, 83, of Campbell, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021 at his residence in Campbell.
Hillis, son of Hillis Obie and Emma Blanche Whitehead Borders, was born Saturday, March 19, 1938, in Campbell.
He was a farmer; a member of the Bethany General Baptist Church; served as a delegate for MFA Propone and served as board member on the Union Township.
On Dec. 14, 1963 in Malden, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Norma Sue Rice. She preceded him in death Sept. 4, 2007.
His survivors include two sons, Hillis Shane Borders and wife, Michelle, of Smyrna, Tennessee, and Shannon J. Borders and wife, Merranda, of Campbell; five grandchildren, Hillary Brown and husband, Brian, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Taylor Borders and Logan Borders, both of Smyrna, Tennessee, Dylan Borders of Lake City, Arkansas, Ashely Wilkerson of Campbell; great-granddaughter, Milani Wilkerson of Campbell; three sisters, Jan Jones and husband, Calvin, of Paris, Tennessee, Biddy Coats of Bernie, Vicki Brooks and husband, Carl, of Doniphan.
Beside his parents and wife, he was preceded by one sister, Janet Carol Borders.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021 at Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 17, 2021 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bryan Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery in Campbell.
Landess Funeral Home of Malden will be in charge of the arrangements.
