~ Robert Mallard, 85 of Poplar Bluff, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021 at The Manor in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Robert, son of Joseph Walter and Altie Reed Mallard, was born on Saturday, May 23, 1936 in Pollard, Arkansas.

He was a retired Remote Station Operator for the Texas Eastern Pipeline. He was a member of the Fagus General Baptist Church and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force having served during Korean War.

On December 24, 1959 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Shirley Joan Smith. She survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Matt Mallard and wife, Debbie of Qulin, Todd Mallard and wife, Rona of Jackson, Shane Mallard and wife, Tammy of Springfield; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Curtis Mallard of Hammond, Indiana and Billy Mallard of Paragould, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Andrew Shane Mallard; two brothers, William (Jr.) Mallard and Elbert Mallard.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 22, 2021 at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Campbell with funeral service beginning at 12:30 p.m. with Reverend Shane Mallard officiating.

Burial will follow at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Landess Funeral Home of Campbell will be in charge of the arrangements.
