Jonathan James Edwards, 58, of Doniphan was arrested at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, for leaving the scene of an accident. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

Jessie Christopher Hopper, 27, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, on a capias probation violation for second-degree assault. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

Jessica Dawn Norman, 34, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 2 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. She was booked into the Butler County jail.

John Austin Shipp, 40, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 1:11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, on a failure to appear warrant for operating a motor vehicle of another without maintaining financial responsibility. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

Teddy Neil Thornburgh, 33, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 6:06 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, on a probation violation. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

A guest at the Relax Motel reported Tuesday, Oct. 12, someone has stolen the rear license plate from his 2008 Chevy Cobalt. The number was RF3-Z9L.

A person reported Oct. 5 a purse was stolen from the back of a 2002 Volvo parked in the 300 block of County Road 557, Poplar Bluff. The purse was in the back seat floorboard of the vehicle. Someone later attempted to use the credit/debit card, but use was denied.

A Neelyville man and a Poplar Bluff woman reported Monday, Oct. 11, they had been assaulted and the suspect had fled the scene. The man was transported to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

•• POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT

Firefighters responded at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, to 1027 Lester St. to assist the coroner in removing a body.

Firefighters responded to a passenger vehicle fire at 5.21 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, on the parking lot at the Walmart Neighborhood Market, 3001 Oak Grove Road. Once the fire was out, a crew assisted with a thermal camera to check the extension in the passenger compartment. Once the vehicle was removed, firefighters cleared the driveway. They used 300 gallons of water. The vehicle’s owner is Brittany Treat of Campbell.

Deanna E. McMeans, 42, Poplar Bluff was arrested at 1:10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, during a traffic stop on Pine Street on a warrant for dangerous drugs and suspicion of resisting or interfering with an arrest. She was transported to the Butler County jail.

•• MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

Joshua M. Brannon, 25, of Grandin was arrested at 6:07 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, in Carroll County on a probation violation warrant for driving under the influence of alcohol, a warrant for driving while suspended and on suspicion of resisting arrest and no seatbelt. He was booked at the Carter County Jail.
