Ricky Cote, 54, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Oct. 5, 2021, at Saint Anne’s Hospital in Fall River, Massachusetts. He was born Jan. 31, 1967, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and was the son of the late Richard and Patricia (Mann) Cote. Rick was united in marriage to Peggy Sue Baber April 22, 2014. Rick and Peggy were high school sweethearts and they reconnected later in life and had seven wonderful years of marriage through trials and tribulations...

Ricky Cote, 54, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Oct. 5, 2021, at Saint Anne’s Hospital in Fall River, Massachusetts.

He was born Jan. 31, 1967, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and was the son of the late Richard and Patricia (Mann) Cote.

Rick was united in marriage to Peggy Sue Baber April 22, 2014. Rick and Peggy were high school sweethearts and they reconnected later in life and had seven wonderful years of marriage through trials and tribulations.

Rick worked for Rick Shipman as superintendent. Rick loved to travel and take his children and grandchildren on adventures. He enjoyed spending time and visiting with his mother. Rick rose above his handicaps of being deaf and being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. He worked everyday and let nothing stand in his way. He loved the water and hunting and fishing and was a huge Razorback football and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed architecture and drafting. Rick was of the Baptist faith. He was a kind, patient man who loved Peggy beyond measure and they had many adventures together. Rick was a volunteer fireman. He loved his family and friends and was always there to help them. He leaves behind his faithful dog, Tank, to watch over his loved ones.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Sue Cote of Poplar Bluff; children, Adam Cote and Katie of Wooster, Arkansas, Christian Cote and Kayla of Liberty, Kentucky, Janessa Cote and Josh of North Carolina; blessing children, Camista Sanders of Poplar Bluff, Ethan Amann of Poplar Bluff, Summer Luthe, Ryan Luthe, and Megan Luthe; and many grandchildren; brothers, Ronnie Cote of Paragould, Arkansas, and Ronnie Cote of Humphrey, Arkansas; sister, Cheryl Ellis of Piggott, Arkansas, and Jen Carr and husband, Ronnie, of Humphrey, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends.

Rick was a wonderful husband, father, and friend.

Funeral Services will be held at noon Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas, with Bro. Chris Brantley officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott. Pallbearers will be Charles Baber, Al Baber, Jr., James Baber, Adam Cote, Christian Cote, and Tyler Frasher. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday in Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott.
