Charles Everett Chatman, 79, of Winter Haven, Florida went to his eternal home in Heaven Aug. 29, 2021.
Born Sept. 11, 1941, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Alden Chatman and Lucille (Lynch) Chatman, Charles leaves behind his siblings, Leroy (Helen) Chatman of Poplar Bluff, Raymond (Betty) Chatman of Strafford, Missouri; Wanda (Curtis) Dicken of Poplar Bluff, and Verna Anson, who was raised as a sister, of Poplar Bluff.
In 1960, he married the love of his life, Norma Jean Barker of Poplar Bluff.
For 63 years, he faithfully preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ in over 80 countries around the world.
In the last two years and until his death, Charles was the pastor of First Baptist Lucerne Park in Winter Haven, Florida.
Charles’s legacy is carried on by Jean; their three children, Darla (Brian) Harris, Cindy (Dan) Clouse, and Bryan (Cate) Chatman; nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9 at First Baptist Church Poplar Bluff. Visitation is at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Charles Chatman Evangelistic Association (CCEA) for the benefit of ministries dear to Charles’ heart. Checks can be made payable to CCEA, 101 Greenfield Rd, Winter Haven, FL 33884.
