William Ellis Kirk 86, of Wappapello, died June 15, 2021 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born June 12, 1935 in Guy Arkansas to the late Mark and Dulsa Von (Battles) Kirk.
On Nov. 6, 1954 he was united in marriage to Marjorie Cawood in Blue Springs, Nebraska. She preceded him in death.
He was of the Baptist Faith, served in the National Guard, loved hunting, fishing, shooting matches and spending time with family.
Mr. Kirk is survived by his children, Dollie Markham, Brenda Dortch (Eddie), Susan Von Kirk (Bruce); his grandchildren, Scott A Markham, Carl W Markham, Lacey McClintock, (Jeremy), Eddie Joe Dortch (Whitney), Jessica Hoagland (Preston), Samantha Dalton (Brandon), Adam Morris; eleven great and three great-great-grandchildren also survive. Other survivors include two brothers, James Kirk, Clarence Kirk (Becky); two sisters, Louise Grant (Tom), Judy Clark (Leroy); a daughter-in-law, Sherry Kirk.
Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his son, Randy Joe Kirk; three brothers, Joe, Tom and Sam Kirk; two sisters, Sharon Pohlman, Diana Eisman.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. til 11 a.m. Saturday June 19 at the First Church Of God Hwy 67 south. The funeral service will start at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
