PERRYVILLE, Mo. — The Poplar Bluff Piranhas swim team won the boys team title Saturday in a four-team meet while the girls placed third.

Poplar Bluff beat Ste. Genevieve 308-290 on the boys side while the girls scored 258 points, 56 behind Ste. Genevieve, which won the team race by 32.5 points over Farmington.

The Piranhas finished second in the combined team score, 38 points behind Ste. Genevieve.

A week after opening the season by winning 26 events, the Piranhas took home 29 first-place finishes and saw faster times.

Willa Cisne, Dakota Collins and Owen McDaniel each won three individual events while Nash Ligons, Matthew Lance, Cyrus Sagharichi and Carson Todd each had a pair of first-place finishes.

Maclaren Moore, Kennedy Shell, Ella Shell and Marley Spain won the 200-meter freestyle and 200-medley relays in the 11-12 age division while Sophia Mulholland, Kelsey Crismon, Pauline Lagura and Dakota Collins won the 9-10 division 100-freestyle relay for Poplar Bluff.

McDaniel and Sagharichi combined to win 5 of 6 individual events in the Boys 13-14 division. McDaniel won the 100-freestyle, 100-breaststroke and cut 2.57 seconds off his 200-IM time to win. Sagharichi won the 100-butterfly and 50-freestyle while placing second in the 100-backstroke after cutting his time. Tristan Morgan was third in the 100-breaststroke while Henry Duncan placed fifth in the back. Mauricio Tamez and Axel Tamez also picked up points with top-8 finishes.

Todd won the Boys 15-18 events in the 100-freestyle with a 0.31-second cut in time and was 10.5 seconds faster in the 200-IM to win. He also cut his time to place third in the 100-breaststroke. Darius Sagharichi was second in the 100-butterfly, fourth in the 50-freetyle with a time cut and fifth in the 100-freestyle.

Forrest Huck won the 9-10 division 100-freestyle, was second in the 100-IM and fourth in the 50-back and fifth in the 50-freestyle. Parker Hays placed fourth in the 100-freestyle, cut his time in the 50-breaststroke and scored in the 50-backstroke.

Ligons won the 8-under freestyle events and placed second in the butterfly while Logan Crunk won the breaststroke and was third in the backstroke. Austin Crismon placed second in the backstroke and was fourth in the 25-freestyle while Graydon LeTresse had a pair of fourth-place finishes while Noah Vick also picked up points and helped the winning 100-freestyle relay with Ligons, Lance and Crismon.

Lance won the breaststroke and butterfly while placing second in the 6-under 25-freestyle.

In the Girls 11-12 division, Moore won the 50-butterfly while cutting nearly a second from her time and was also faster in the 100-IM in placing second. Cameron Huck was second in the backstroke and butterfly while placing third in the 50-freestyle. Gibbs placed third in the 100-IM, fifth in the 50-freestyle and sixth in the backstroke. Spain placed fourth in the 50-freestyle and was sixth in the breaststroke while Ella Shell finished fifth in the breaststroke and sixth in the 100-freestyle. Kennedy Shell cut time in the 100-freestyle and also scored points in the 50-freestyle. Lilly Johnson cut her time in the backstroke.

Collins won both freestyle events and the breaststroke in the 9-10 division, winning the 100-freestyle by 0.06 of a second. Laura and Mulholland lowered their times and scored points in the backstroke.

Grace Cram won the 15-18 100-butterfly and was fourth in three other events. Gracie Brown placed second in the 13-14 200-IM by a second and was third in two other events.

Willa Cisne won the 6-under 25-freestyle, backstroke and butterfly while Presley Wilson won the breaststroke and finished second in the butterfly, backstroke and 25-freestyle. McKayla Tabanera finished second in the breaststroke and third in two other events. Hattie Ligons had a pair of third-place finishes and was fourth in a third event.

Cisne, Tabanera, McKenleigh Wilson and Kynlee Dunlap placed second in the 8-under 100-freestyle relay. Kyra Rommell finished sixth in the 25-freestyle while Dunlap was seventh in the backstroke.
