Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, at the intersection of highways U and H, five miles west of Bernie.
According to the report, Joshua A. Taylor, 29, of Kansas City, Kansas, was operating a 2019 Dodge Avenger northbound on Highway U. Taylor failed to yield to a 2013 Dodge Avenger operated by Dustin C. Reed, 27, of Mesquite, Texas, that was westbound on Highway U, and both vehicles collided in the intersection.
Taylor suffered moderate injuries in the collision, while his passenger, Manuel Q. Esguerra, 40, of Stuttgart, Arkansas, suffered minor injuries. Both were transported by Stoddard County EMS to SoutheastHealth in Dexter.

A 45-year-old man suffered moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, on County Road 455, seven miles south of Piedmont.
According to the report, David L. Hershberger, 45, of Piedmont was operating a 2004 Arctic Cat northbound on County Road 455 when he failed to negotiate a turn and overturned, ejecting him from the vehicle.
Hershberger was transported by Clearwater Ambulance Service to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Elizabeth A. Morgan, 33, of Paragould, Arkansas, was arrested at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, in Dunklin County on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released.

A 52-year-old man suffered minor injuries in a three-vehicle accident at 7:10 a.m. Thursday, May 6, on Highway 53, one mile north of Gibson in Dunklin County.
According to the report, Jeffrey A. Walker, 52, of Holcomb was operating a 2004 Ford F-150 northbound on Highway 53 when it crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2007 Freightliner operated by Vitalii Vorobei, 32, of Neelyville.
A southbound 2002 Lincoln Town Car operated by Nicholas A. Barrett, 42, of Poplar Bluff received minor damage from crash debris.
Walker was transported by ambulance to Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Arkansas.
Michael A. Gianakis, 55, of Poplar Bluff was booked at the Butler County jail Wednesday, May 5, on a failure to appear warrant for DWI.

David Hampton of Doniphan reported Wednesday, May 5, that his rear license plate was stolen off of his vehicle between the days of April 20 and May 4 at Cash’s Car Clinic.
City firefighters responded at 8:42 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, to a report of an unauthorized burn at 1903 Wilson Street. Upon arrival, firefighters found a small burn pile with construction material burning and used 10 gallons of water to extinguish the fire.

City firefighters responded at 1:05 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, to a report of a building fire at 1801 Spring Street. Upon arrival, firefighters found the plastic ground cover under the house was burning and used 100 gallons of water to extinguish the fire. It was later found the fire originated from the exhaust vent of the residence’s electric dryer.

City firefighters responded at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, to a report of a man yelling fire in an apartment building at 508 Hazel Street. Upon arrival, firefighters made contact with the subject and determined it was a false alarm.
