Eric Scott Brown, 39, of the 1800 block of 14th St., was arrested Thursday, April 8, on failure to appear warrants for property damage, violation of an order of protection for an adult, and stealing $750 or more. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

A resident in the 500 block Bartlett Street reported a wallet containing credit and debit cards and cash valued at $1,000 and identification was stolen from a vehicle Thursday, April 8.

Kenneth Grobe reported at 12:44 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, that his vehicle was stuck from behind while he was stopped on North Westwood Boulevard at Highland Drive.

Walmart loss prevention associates reported Thursday, April 8, the theft of approximately $734.04 worth of store merchandise. The theft occurred at around 4:30 p.m.. The suspects were described as a white male and a white female. The investigation continues.

Wendell Leonard reported Thursday, April 8, vandalism to a rental property he owns in the 300 block of North B Street.

Officer Zachary Tubb observed a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Oak Street with the driver side door ajar at 5:30 a.m. Friday, April 9. Tubb found Jessica Reed, 27, of Poplar Bluff asleep in the driver seat. Reed was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant from Wayne County for possession of amphetamine. At the time of her arrest, a glass smoking pipe was found in her possession. Additional charges may follow.

On Tuesday, April 6, at approximately 1:19 p.m., officers with the Poplar Bluff Police Department and the Butler County Sheriff’s Office responded to a room at Motel 6 in reference to a report of drug activity. They contacted Carl Tooley, 54, of the 1100 of Butler County Road 523, and Rebecca Dunn, 40, of the 1100 block of Butler County Road 523.

During the contact, officers located and seized suspected marijuana and suspected drug paraphernalia. Tooley and Dunn were taken into custody and transported to the Butler County jail, where they were booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 1:30 a.m. Friday, April 9, officers responded to the 1900 block of Bradley Street in reference to a domestic assault. Carin Cody complained Courtney Thompson assaulted her and her teenage son. Thompson left the scene prior to officers arrival.

Officers again were dispatched to the residence at 5:05 a.m. when Thompson returned to the resident.

He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the police department where he was booked on a charge of third-degree assault. He was lodged in the Butler County jail.

BUTLER COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Tammy Jo Hillis, 50, of Qulin was booked Thursday, April 8, into the Butler County jail on suspicion of DWI.

Randy Neal Root, 35, of Poplar Bluff was booked Thursday, April 8, on suspicion of peace disturbance. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

Leon Mitchell Sokolowski, 46, of Poplar Bluff was booked Thursday, April 8, on suspicion of first degree peace disturbance. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

Shyanne Elizabeth Wallace, 20, of 2900 block of Highway W was arrested Thursday, April 8, on suspicion of fishing in a restricted zone and owner operating a motor vehicle without maintaining financial reasonability (first offense).

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAT PATROL

Virgil R. Burpo, 34, of Zalma was arrested at 5:25 p.m. Thursday, April 8 in Stoddard County on a felony Stoddard County warrant for neglect of a child non-support. He was booked into the Stoddard County jail.

Brandy A. Busby, 43, of Dexter was arrested at 7:29 p.m. on suspicion of DWI, failure to drive on right half of the roadway, causing an accident. She was held at the Sikeston Department of Public Safety.
