City firefighters responded to an alarm at 11:46 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, to a reported bush fire at 1215 Grand Ave. According to the report, firefighters found the occupants had a small fire in their backyard but were in the process of extinguishing it. Robert Downs is the occupant.

City firefighters responded to an alarm at 1:33 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, to a reported grass fire on a vacant lot at the intersection of Timmons and Coolidge streets. According to the report, firefighters found a grass fire burning into the brush of a vacant lot and used approximately 100 gallons of water to extinguish the fire.

City firefighters responded to an alarm at 8:05 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, to a reported vehicle fire at Larry Hillis Dodge. According to the report, firefighters found a semi vehicle transporter with smoke coming from the trailer’s rear axles in the southbound lane of Business U.S. Highway 60. Fire crews investigated the tires and the axle of the semi vehicle and found that the vehicle had been extinguished by the semi’s operator.

Justin L. Summers, 38 of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 6:57 p.m. Monday, April 5, in the 1000 block of North Second Street on a failure to appear warrant for non-support.

Daniel B. Minehart, 18, of Dexter was arrested at 1:48 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, in Butler County on suspicion of DWI. He was booked into the Butler County jail on a 24-hour hold.

A 31-year-old woman suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, on Highway 34, two miles west of Silva.
According to the report, James D. Hopkins, 59, of Piedmont, was operating a 2003 Chevrolet S-10 eastbound on Highway 34 when he ran off the side of the roadway and struck a concrete culvert and multiple trees.
Katty M. Davis, 31, of Des Arc, was a passenger in the vehicle and was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Davis was later arrested at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, in Butler County on a probation and parole warrant. She was booked at the Butler County jail.

Michael R. Pruneau, 52, of Neelyville was arrested at 6:42 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, in Stoddard County on suspicion of DWI, careless and imprudent driving involving a crash and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. He was booked at the Stoddard County jail on a 12-hour hold.

A 35-year-old man suffered moderate injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 3 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, on Highway B, three miles north of Naylor.
According to the report, Michael J. Shannon of Naylor was operating a 2007 Dodge Ram southbound on Highway B when the vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck a mailbox.
Shannon was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

A 36-year-old woman suffered moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, on Highway A, 10 miles south of Doniphan.
According to the report, Aaron Mays, 30, of Doniphan was operating a 1987 Monster Moto southbound on Highway A when he lost control of the vehicle. Mays and a passenger, Kimberly D. Essex, 36, of Doniphan, were ejected from the vehicle.
Essex was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

A 39-year-old woman suffered moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 9:42 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, on U.S. Highway 60, one-half mile east of Morehouse.
According to the report, Lindsey C. Sly of Poplar Bluff was operating a 2004 Cadillac Escalade SRX eastbound on Highway 60 when it ran off the right side of the road and struck an embankment.
Sly was transported by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
