Cathy Malin of Harviell reported on Monday, March 22, several items were taken from her residence while she was in jail.

John W. Catt was arrested on Tuesday, March 23, on suspicion of stealing and an active warrant. While Catt was getting dressed out, he also allegedly was discovered to have a plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance, suspected to be methamphetamine.

Deputies responded on Sunday, March 7, to Heartland Express, 4155 S. Westwood Blvd. in reference to a possible shoplifter. Deputies canvassed the area in an attempt to locate the suspect, but no one matching the suspect’s description was found. It is unknown what, if any, merchandise was stolen.

Deputies responded on Friday, March 12, to a report of a vehicle being burned and left on County Road 276 south of Neelyville. It was later discovered that the vehicle had been stolen from Arkansas on the night of Thursday, March 11.
The incident was turned over to the Corning, Arkansas Sheriff’s Department for further investigation.

Tony Womack reported on Friday, March 19, that his stimulus check had not been deposited into his account when it was supposed to be and that he allegedly discovered that the check had been deposited into another account.

Eduardo Godinez brought a firearm to the Butler County Justice Center on Saturday, March 20, that his father had located to verify whether it was stolen or not. After running the serial number, it was found that the firearm had been stolen out of Dearborn County, Indiana. The firearm was placed into evidence and Dearborn County was contacted.

Deputies responded on Saturday, March 20, to the residence of Frank Delano of the 17800 block of West U.S. Highway 60. Delano reported a Mahindra shuttle tractor and Ariens riding mower had been vandalized, damaging the fuel lines and electrical wiring on the equipment.

Deputies responded on Saturday, March 20, to the 600 block of County Road 468 to a resident who accused her neighbor of stealing her dog out of her yard. She stated the dog had been missing for three weeks before returning home on Friday, March 19 and she believed the dog had been in her neighbor’s possession during those three weeks.

Seth Lacey of the 100 block of Windy Ridge reported on Sunday, March 21, that his daughter had been bitten by a dog. Upon further investigation, it was found the dog had been protecting her newborn puppies during the incident and the child was not seriously injured.

Deputies responded on Sunday, March 21, to the residence of Tara Elliott of the 700 block of County Road 526. Elliott reported an unknown white male alledgedly came in her home and stole $3,500 out of her wallet and a pair of black Converses.

Christopher Williamson of the 700 block of Highway 142 reported on Tuesday, March 23, that some of his prescription medication was taken from his residence on Sunday, March 21.

Deputies responded on Tuesday, March 23, to Southern Storage, located at 276 E. Outer Rd., to a report of stolen property. Business owner Mikel Hughes and property owner Joel Griffith reported the chain link fence surrounding the business had been cut, and an enclosed trailer on the property had been broken into and tools valued at more than $1,000 had been stolen.

Richard J. Roles, 31, of Poplar Bluff was booked at the Butler County jail on Thursday, March 25, on suspicion of first-degree tampering with an auto vehicle.

William J. McGavock, 34, of Poplar Bluff was booked at the Butler County jail Thursday, March 25, on a capias warrant for first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle and a failure to appear warrant for assault.

James Bieller reported on Thursday, March 18 one of the storage buildings located in 11200 block of Highway AA in Broseley was damaged. Deputies found the padlock hasp had been pried off the building and the lock had cut marks.

POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT
Firefighters responded to a report of an unauthorized burn at 2:33 a.m. on Friday, March 26 at 951 Mulberry Street. Firefighters used 10 gallons of water to put out the fire. Firefighters tried to contact the occupant(s) of the residence, but there was no answer at the door.

Rebecca Chatman reported on Thursday, March 25, her vehicle key, two house keys and several key rings were stolen from the driver’s seat of her vehicle when she went back into the store at 1613 S. Broadway. Her keys were later returned to her.

Nancy Sandoval of the 700 block of Cedar Street reported on Thursday, March 25, that her wallet was taken out of her car the night before and it was missing.

Jessica S. Dollins reported on Thursday, March 25, $990 was taken out of her wallet. Was taken out of her wallet. Dollins stated she dropped her wallet in the Walmart parking lot, between the cart exchange and the pharmacy entry door. She further stated the wallet had been returned to her, but the money was missing.

Steve G. Harrison, 58, of Poplar Bluff was arrested on Thursday, March 25, at 7:19 p.m. on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, expired state vehicle license plates and no financial responsibility.

Officers responded to the Super 8 Motel at 8:19 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, to a report of stealing and/or theft of service.
Ryan McVey reported that Bill Evans, 50, no address given, had paid for one night at the motel on Wednesday, March 24, but had not checked out from the room at the designated time that morning and refused to pay to continue to stay there. Evans was issued a summons for theft of services.
MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL
A 78-year-old woman suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 7:07 a.m. Thursday, March 25, on U.S. Highway 67, two miles north of Poplar Bluff.
According to the report, a 16-year-old male was operating a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado that was struck when it pulled into the path of a 2003 Ford ZX-2 operated by Cora B. Lee, 78, of Poplar Bluff.
Lee was transported to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Robert A. White, 54, of Van Buren was arrested at 11:58 p.m. on Thursday, March 25 on suspicion of DWI and possession of marijuana.

Trivade V. Brooks, 45, of Dexter, was arrested at 4:24 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, on suspicion of DWI, no valid driver’s license, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway and operating a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner. He was released.

Dustin W. Kelly, 24, of Grandin was arrested at 1:02 p.m. on Friday, March 26 on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine, no seat belt and a warrant for resisting arrest. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Kevin D. Kelly, 52, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 1:11 p.m. on Friday, March 26, on suspicion of possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while suspended, no insurance, no seat belt and a registration violation; and a warrant for resisting arrest. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Bradley D. Vaughn, 34, of Dexter was arrested at 5:08 p.m. on Friday, March 26 on suspicion of driving while revoked, resisting arrest by fleeing, failure to register a motor vehicle, failure to stop at a stop sign, exceeding the posted speed limit, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, no seat belt and no insurance. He was booked at the Stoddard County jail.

Michael W. Hall, 32, of Ellsinore was arrested at 8:25 p.m. on Friday, March 26 on suspicion of driving while suspended or revoked and exceeding the posted speed limit.
