Clarence Monty Adams , born August 26, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord March 3, 2021.
He was raised on a cotton farm Dunklin County, Missouri.
He graduated from Gideon high school in 1959 and enlisted in the US Navy where he served 14 years. He was a Vietnam veteran and earned several medals and commendations.
Monty was a retired welder from Koch Industries in Evansville, Indiana.
He enjoyed fishing and traveling.
Monty was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Augustine Adams and Lois Elaine (Ingram) Adams.
He leaves behind two sons, Monty Allen Adams and Todd Adams; three brothers, Ron (Peggy) Adams of Mundord, Tennessee, Tony (Linda) Adams, Washington, North Carolina and Rick (Jo Ann) Adams of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He attended Mt. Zion Baptist church in Poplar Bluff.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday March 6 at Fowler Sullivan Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Internment with military rites will be on Monday at 1 p.m. in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
