The Poplar Bluff High School cheerleading squad placed fifth in the MCCA Class 5 Small Squad state championships, it was announced over the weekend.
Because of COVID-19, the MCCA State Cheerleading Championships were held by video submission.
Lanie Robertson and McKenzie Cassie earned all-state honors for tumbling.
The team features seniors Sydney Carter, Peyton Nagy, Hunter Pierce and Alaina Sloan; as well as Emma Hicks, McKenzie Cassie, Hannah Lane, Skylar Elledge, Kylyn Maxwell, Courtney Riley, Madelyn Redmond, Adyson Parson, Quinlan Rutledge, Lanie Robertson, Jordyn Ridens, Miles Coleman, Macie Robertson, Kelsey Kramer, Lydian Sanders, Addie Tinsley and Sarena Hill.
East Carter placed first in the 1A Small Squad division with Clearwater sixth and Van Buren 10th.

East Carter's Kadence Reynolds (base), Cassidy Sullivan (backspot), Grace Epperson (flyer and jumps) and Jaci Douglas (jumps) earned all-state honors. Clearwater's Elizabeth England (flyer) was also named to the all-state squad.
