City meetings

Poplar Bluff City Council

The Poplar Bluff City Council will have a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, in City Council Chambers, 301 S. Fifth St.

Workshop items to be discussed are:

• an amendment to city code Section 120.060 (B) Residency Requirements.

• bids for construction and site development of the new one story, 26,000 GSF Police Department building for the City of Poplar Bluff at 911 Shelby Road.

No action required items were listed on the agenda.

The council will meet in a closed meeting in which they will discuss such matters which are exempted under the open meetings law Section 610.021.1,RSMo, Section 610.021.2, RSMo, Section 610.021.3, RSMo, Section 610.021.9, RSMo, Section 610.021.11, RSMo, Section 610.021.12, RSMo, Section 610.021.13, RSMo and Section 610.021.14, RSMo.

Downtown Poplar Bluff, Inc., will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, in City Council Chambers, 301 S. Fifth St.

Poplar Bluff Electrical Board

Poplar Bluff Electrical Board will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, in City Council Chambers, 301 S. Fifth St.

Among the new business will be

• four requests to put master electrical license in escrow.

• state license requirement

• city requirement for the service main to have an exterior mounted main disconnect on all commercial properties

Unfinished business will include requirements to take electrical examines.
