Gilford Hamilton, 84, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away on Dec. 18, 2020, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff with his family around him, and took his journey to heaven.
Gilford was born on Oct. 9, 1936, to the late Worth and Elsie (Hardin) Hamilton in Tennessee. He married Shirley Hamilton on June 27, 1957, in Hayti, Missouri. She preceded him in death May 20, 2020.
Gilford loved hunting, fishing, working on vehicles, going to auctions, flea marketing and general tinkering with things. He worked at St. Louis Regional Center as a stationary engineer from 1986-1996, when he retired.
Gilford is survived by daughters Vicki Wooten and husband Tommy, Janice Hamilton, Brenda Condray; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Gilford was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Hamilton, parents, sisters Magdalene Fourcault, Ruby Fourcault, Linda Gilley and Elaine Harrell, and brother W. E. Hamilton.
The family has no public services planned per Mr. Hamilton’s wishes. The family does request memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
