DONIPHAN, Mo. — Bonnie Sue Sorrell, 86-year-old resident of Doniphan, Missouri, departed this life Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 2, 1934 in Gatewood to the late George “Pete” and Vida Marie (Brewer) Fletcher.

Ms. Bonnie worked for the Ripley County Courthouse with the Recorders office. She was a member of the United Methodist Church; Bonnie was a master quilter having won numerous quilting ribbons. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, and time spent working in her yard. She was married to Elijah Sorrell Dec. 13, 1952 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on May 29, 1981.

Surviving are her sons, Keith (Linda) Sorrell of Buncombe, Illinois, Daryl (MaryJo) Sorrell of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Michael Sorrell of China; one sister, Virginia Turnbull of St. Louis; two brothers, Doyle Fletcher of Doniphan and Bill Fletcher of San Antonio, Texas; four beloved grandchildren, David Sorrell, Nancy (Ryan) Tompkins, Amy Sorrell, and James Sorrell.

Ms. Bonnie was preceded by her parents, husband, and one daughter, Patricia Sorrell.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020 at the New Home Cemetery in Gatewood, Missouri with Bro. Kent Wilfong officiating.
