Pamela Cox of the 800 block of Clare reported at 1:12 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, that she heard a dog barking and a noise outside her home. When she went to investigate, she discovered a tire on her car had been slashed.

Carol White reported at 10:51 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, that items had been stolen from property she owns in the 1100 block of South 13th Street. Items missing included an ATV and lawn mowers, and White was to provide a list of additional items.

Employees of Murphy’s Express in the 300 block of South Westwood Boulevard reported at 9:04 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, that an unidentified woman had stolen several items from the store while she was there.

Radek Mensik reported at 9:25 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, that items including an air compressor, job site radio, multi-tool, circular saw and jig saw had been stolen the previous night from a home he owns and is remodeling in the 1100 block of Hickory.

Lisa B. Wilson, 52, of Fisk was booked Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Butler County jail on a warrant for failure to maintain financial responsibility.

Cierra L. Wolff, 29, of the 1800 block of Alice was booked Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Butler County jail on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance. She later was released.

Poplar Bluff firefighters responded at 8:05 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, to 1910 Greenwood Drive to assist Butler County Emergency Medical Services.

Poplar Bluff firefighters responded at 3:56 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, to smoke in the woods in the 2500 block of South 11th Street. When firefighters arrived on the scene, it appeared to be a field burning, but they could not see the field from South 11th street so they drove to Cravens Road. They located a crop field being burned with a farmer attending the fire.

Poplar Bluff firefighters responded at 7:29 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, to an unauthorized burn. The report was of a fire burning unattended in the 2000 block of Bradley street, but they found a trash fire burning behind 1926 Wallace St. Officers contacted the occupant and explained the ordinance about the mandatory trash pickup and the burn ordinance. The fire was extinguished and firefighters cleared the scene.
