Twin Rivers R-X saw a slight increase in the tax rate for the coming year.
According to board documents, the current year is computed at $3.0682 whereas the 2019 rate was set at $3.0647. This is a 0.0035% increase.
The school district receives information from the county clerk offices in Butler and Stoddard counties.
That information goes into a system on the State Auditor’s website, which does the calculations and provides a number.
The district will receive about $3 for every $100. The area is assessed at $68,174,944 compared to last year’s $67,973,300.
Along with that, the district is gearing up to return to school Monday. Dr. Ben Johnson, superintendent, said about 18% of students registered for Plan C classes or all remote courses.
That translates to about 20 students per campus, although there is some variation.
Johnson said that is a semester-based decision.
The district is trending slightly up with overall enrollment, with 911 at last count, he said. Last year ended at around 880 overall enrollment.
