Joyce Alline Garner, 81, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born Oct. 29, 1938 in Holland, Missouri Joyce was preceded in death by her parents: Arthur and Virgie Kelley, her first husband, Junior Galbraith, and second husband, James Garner, her brother, J.W. Kelley, her sister, Rubye Rucker, her son, James Galbraith, her son-in-law, Robert Dodd, and her great-grandbabies...

Joyce Alline Garner, 81, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020 in Kansas City, Missouri.

She was born Oct. 29, 1938 in Holland, Missouri

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents: Arthur and Virgie Kelley, her first husband, Junior Galbraith, and second husband, James Garner, her brother, J.W. Kelley, her sister, Rubye Rucker, her son, James Galbraith, her son-in-law, Robert Dodd, and her great-grandbabies.

She loved to read, especially her Bible. She also enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, going camping, and spending time with her family.

Joyce was a member of the Westwood Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Joyce leaves the following to cherish her memory:

daughter, Patricia Dodd of Poplar Bluff, son, Brian (Lester) Galbraith of Bonita Springs, Florida . sister, Mary (Gerald) James of Holland, grandchildren- Christopher (Janet) Dodd of Poplar Bluff, Justin (Mary Beth) Galbraith of Little Rock, Arkansas. Matthew (Stephanie) Dodd of Springfield, Tennessee, and April (Bobby) Young of Devon, Arkansas.

10 great-grandchildren,and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, 2020, at the John W. German Funeral Home chapel in Steele, Missouri, with Pastor Christopher Dodd officiating. Burial was held at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers were her family.

John W. German Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of the services.
