Winfred “Leon” Morris, 62, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away May 27, 2020 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. Winfred was born Dec. 14, 1957 to the late Winiferd and Elsie McGee in St. Louis, Mo. He married Deborah “Debbie” (Runyon) Oct. 19, 2003. She survives...

Winfred “Leon” Morris, 62, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away May 27, 2020 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

Winfred was born Dec. 14, 1957 to the late Winiferd and Elsie McGee in St. Louis, Mo. He married Deborah “Debbie” (Runyon) Oct. 19, 2003. She survives.

Winfred was a proud father and jack-of-all trades. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was stationed on the S. S. King DDG-41 and U.S.S. Constitution where he was the personal driver and coxswain to the ship’s admiral. He was a member of Grand Island Family Church in Grand Island, Neb. His hobbies were: fishing, camping, spoiling his grandkids and debating any and everything under the sun with friends and family. He loved and cherished his family.

Winfred is survived by wife Debbie, children; Delbert “Mike”, Jessica Melissa, Joshua Allen, Stephanie Michelle, Kyle Williams; grandchildren; Elijah Samples, Alyissa and Dylan Coates, Alexandra and Ian Widga, Robert “Bobby” Kineaid, Sophia, Braxton, Ashlynn and Trinty Kincaid, sisters; Candace Thompson and Beverly Wilson.

Winfred was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Wendell “Gene”; uncle, Robert “Bobby” McGee; aunt, Josie Levelace; cousin; Charles Canter, and his beloved dog Baby who he treated better than any human on this planet.

The family will hold a private scattering of ashes at a private location at 2 p.m. July 11, 2020.
