Firefighters responded at 4:43 p.m. Saturday, May 23, to 1700 W. Maud St., to assist police in removing a lock from a door.

Firefighters responded at 8:26 p.m. Saturday, May 23, to 1704 W. Maud St. to an unauthorized fire, where a mattress and box spring were burning. They advised the resident of the city’s burn ordinance.

Firefighters responded at 8:07 p.m. Saturday, May 23, to Fifth and Vine streets to a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident. No extrication or clear up was needed.

Firefighters responded at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 23, to 300 Bartlett St. to assist the Poplar Bluff Police Department in removing a rope tied and hanging from under the bridge into the water.

Firefighters responded to 410 West Harper St. at 12.17 p.m. Sunday, May 24, to what was reported as a structure fire. Upon arrival, they learned it was an unauthorized burn. They cancelled stations 2 and 3, who were also responding.

Firefighters responded at 1:24 p.m. Sunday, May 24, to an unauthorized burn in the backyard of 1910 Arkansas Ave.

Firefighters responded to a call at 5:28 p.m. Sunday, May 24, to an outside rubbish, trash or waste fire on east Ashcroft Road. They located a couch on fire along the side of the road in the county. They used a booster to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters were called at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 24, to North Main and Mary streets to an alleged fire. No incident was found upon arrival. Firefighters searched the area.

Firefighters responded to 707 N. Seventh St. to investigate an order of smoke at 3:37 p.m. Sunday. May 24. Smoke appeared to be coming out of a vent. They checked the heating and air and found one hot freon line coming into the house. They pulled the outside breaker and shut off the inside breaker on the unit. They advised the landlord be contacted.
