Ralph August Owen, 78, of Poplar Bluff passed from this life May 10, 2020, at Oakdale Care Center in Poplar Bluff.
Ralph was born on April 22, 1942, to the late Ralph and Ruth (Wilson) Owen in Bell City, Missouri.
He was a retired vocational rehab counselor, and retired personal counselor. He was also a history teacher. He was a very caring man who very much enjoyed helping people with trouble in their life, turn their life around.
He enjoyed working on his rental houses, making things in his basement, flowers, working in general and writing. He was currently writing his third book.
Ralph married Vivian (Cox) Owen on Aug. 7, 2015. She survives.
Other survivors are: daughters, Angela Brinson, Diana Vert (Kenny); step children, Darin Franklin (Ashley), Dana Wade (Ben); six biological grandchildren, Mark Fitz, Courtney Dyal, Daniel Brinson, Alexis Brinson, Kenny Foltz, Kelly Foltz and one great-grandson Ryder; step grandchildren, Jacob Sherrill, Jason Cooper, Jeremy Cooper, Reese Franklin, Anna Franklin; step-great grandchildren, Ashley Buss, Ariana Croy, Brandi Walk, Riley Cooper, Kaylin Joy Cooper; and step- great-great-grandson, Brantley Buss.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; third wife, Patricia; oldest daughter, Karen Miller and her husband, Edward; and his brother John Owen.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, May 14, 2020, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.
Funeral services will begin at noon in the chapel with Ron Fowler officiating. Burial will take place at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
