Dale Eugene (Gene) Truelove Sr., 90, of Neelyville, departed this life on April 19, 2020 in the Westwood Hills Healthcare of Poplar Bluff. He was born Aug. 17, 1929 at Etowah, Arkansas to the late Chester Harvey Truelove and Ruth Marie (Goss) Truelove. He had been a resident of Butler County for 56 years.
On Feb. 19, 1954, at Poplar Bluff, he was married to Dorothy Anne Nelson. She preceded him in death on Jan. 12, 2020. His hobbies include fishing and hiking. Mr. Truelove had served in the United States Navy and was a member of the American Legion. He was also a member of Hornersville Masonic Lodge, and NRA-ILA. He was a farmer.
He is survived by his children; Dale Truelove Jr. (Vicky), Patricia Truelove, Doug Truelove (Robin), Timothy Truelove (Pat) and Dawn Truelove Byrd (Ray). Also surviving is one sister; Mary (Truelove) Blankenship and 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Ruth Truelove as well as his grandparents; Lester Noel Truelove and Maude (Rice) Truelove, Benjamin Eli Goss, and Janey (Mitchell) Goss. One Sister; Cozella Mae Truelove, as well as five brothers; Bobby Truelove, Darrell Truelove, Jerry Truelove, Bill Truelove and John Truelove.
A private family graveside will be held in the Memorial Gardens at Poplar Bluff.
