City firefighters responded at 6:33 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, to a report of a disabled vehicle in the 3000 block of Oak Grove Road.

According to the report, firefighters found two vehicles blocking westbound traffic, with two people standing on the side of the road.

Firefighters positions their trucks with emergency lights activated to protect the area while they waited with the occupants until a wrecker arrived.

Firefighters remained on the scene until the wrecker removed the vehicle.

City firefighters responded at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, to a motor-vehicle crash at the intersection of Oak Grove Road and Shelby Road.

According to the report, firefighters popped the driver’s side door to get an occupant out. Firefighters also assisted emergency-medical-services personnel in loading the person for transport to a hospital for treatment.

Firefighters also used an absorbent to remove fluids from the road.

City firefighters came upon a motor-vehicle crash at the intersection of Kanell Boulevard and A.D. Markel Road at 4:58 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11.

According to the report, firefighters assisted in road clean up and used an absorbent to remove antifreeze from the road.

Firefighters remained on the scene until the vehicles were removed.

City firefighters responded at 4:32 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, to a report of an unauthorized burn in the area of Center and Second streets.

According to the report, firefighters found Travis Pooler allegedly burning unauthorized materials in the back yard of his home at 1021 Center St.

Firefighters reportedly told Pooler about the city’s burn ordinance and used a garden hose to put out the fire.

City firefighters responded at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, to a report of an oil spill on Pine Street near C Street.

According to the report, police officer(s) on the scene told firefighters a car engine had fallen off of a trailer, damaging the oil pan and spilling the oil.

The motor had been reloaded and moved prior to the fire department’s arrival.

Firefighters used an absorbent to remove the oil from the road.
