When Lauren Croy and John Goodwin exchanged their wedding vows, everything was “a dream come true,” the bride said.

Having her wedding featured in the Missouri and Kansas wedding magazine “The Knot”, “kind of blew me away,” the bride said. “It is every girl’s dream to have the perfect wedding.”

Croy is a pharmacist at Key Drugs, and Goodwin is a youth specialist at Sears Youth Center.

The wedding is included in a spread for the Spring/Summer 2020 edition.

It was submitted to the magazine by friends and photographers Emma Marion and her husband, Dilan, of The Marions of Poplar Bluff.

It has gained recognition for the area vendors who helped make the bride’s “childhood dream (come) true.”

“I felt the design and style really stood out,” said Emma Marion, of the submission.

The bride and groom, along with their vendors, said they are happy to be working to put “Poplar Bluff on the map” for weddings. They also are working to support the town and community and, Emma Marion said, it “makes me really proud to live in Poplar Bluff.”

The wedding was held at The Forest Event Center next to The Camp at Wappapello.

Local vendors included: Kate Mullins, event designer; Doniphan Flowers & Gifts, florist and cake topper; Abbie Cakes, cake; Chelsea Nelson (The Salon), hair; Emma Hayes, makeup; Whitworth’s Gift Chest Jewelers, rings; Minit Print, escort cards and menus; Tasteful Creations Catering.

“We have very talented vendors here in Butler County, we get to work with them every weekend, from photographers, caterers, designers, cake designers, to DJs, hair and makeup artists,” said Lauren Taylor of The Forest. “We get to see first hand what all these people bring to the table and we all work together in our community to support and lift each other up.”

The wedding featured the bride’s more modern style, said Mullins, describing it as “classic romance.”

The wedding featured “soft pinks, lots of greens and navy. Modern decorations featuring gold and a lot of glassware, which is starting to become more popular,” Mullins said.

“Lauren had a different mind set … that and trusting people to make the wedding … to see their dream become a reality. I really enjoyed working with Laura and helping her,” she continued.

Emma Marion points out “there are so many talented people in the area” and the bride’s “vendors worked so hard.”
