City firefighters responded at 6:03 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, to an alarm at Kids Corral Day Center, 2323 N. Main St. It was investigation only.

City firefighters responded at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, to a possible structure fire at the 914 Park Ave. residence owned by Justin Newton, 379 County Road 601.
According to the report, firefighters found flames showing from the rear of the structure and heavy smoke showing from the front of the structure upon their arrival.
Firefighters initiated an exterior attack to put out the fire, then moved into the home’s interior.
Once the fire was under control, firefighters searched the home, and no one was found inside.
Firefighters used 2,800 gallons of water to put out the fire.
Spire and Municipal Utilities personnel responded.
There reportedly were no gas or electrical services to the home, and Municipal Utilities personnel cut the power to the home at the pole.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

City firefighters responded at 10:18 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, to a report of an odor of something burning at 708 Kinzer St.
According to the report, firefighters were told the breakers had been turned off at the breaker box.
Firefighters used the department’s thermal-imaging camera to check for any fire. None was found, but firefighters could smell an odor of smoke.
Firefighters told the occupant(s) to have the electric checked by an electrician before turning it back on.
