Virgil A. Patterson, 43, of Doniphan was arrested at 8:17 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while revoked. He was booked at the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department.

BUTLER COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

Tammy Lynn Barnes, 51, of the 18400 block of County Road 118 was booked at the Butler County jail Tuesday, Jan. 21, on a warrant for stealing and on two failure to appear warrants for violation of an order of protection and first-degree stalking. She was released on bond.

Patrick James Trentelman reported at about 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, that a residence he owns in the 13700 block of Highway 67 at Neelyville was forcibly entered and an antique lamp stolen.

Jacob Nicholas Davis of Pollard, Ark., reported his 2003 Chevrolet pickup was stolen between 5 a.m. Jan. 16 and 10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, while it was parked on Highway 51, between Qulin and Fagus.

John H. Hogan of Doniphan reported his storage trailer in the 2300 block of Highway EE at Neelyville had been forcibly entered between Friday, Jan. 17, and Monday, Jan. 20.

According to the report, a safe containing unknown contents was stolen from the trailer. A bench grinder and loading chute also were reported missing from the property.

David Roger Overall of Jackson reported Sunday, Jan. 19, that a residence he owns in the 1500 block of County Road 638 at Fisk was entered.

According to the report, a chain saw, three plastic fuel containers, a socket set, vice grip pliers set and screw driver were among the items stolen.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT

Kenneth Harold Betz, 44, no address listed, was arrested at 4:19 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, in the 900 block of Taft Street on a New Madrid County failure to appear warrant for violation of a court order and a Butler County failure to appear warrant for first-degree stalking. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Shannon Danielle Hatcher, 20, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 10:21 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, in the 1100 block of Bradley Street on a Butler County failure to appear warrant for first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle and on suspicion of hindering prosecution and tampering with physical evidence. She was booked at the Butler County jail.

Walter Lee Currie Jr., 26, of Broseley was arrested at 9:58 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, in the 1100 block of Bradley Street on Butler County warrants for first-degree assault and probation violation an on suspicion of first-degree assault of a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of firearm and tampering with physical evidence. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Cody Travis Grogan, 19, of the 300 block of South Seventh Street was arrested at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, on A.D. Markel Drive on a municipal failure to appear warrant for no insurance. He was booked at the Butler County jail and released on bond.

Billie K. Hussman, 20, of the 500 block of Karen Drive was arrested at 8:09 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, in the 600 block of Victor Street on suspicion of peace disturbance and second-degree property damage. She was booked at the Butler County jail.

A 60-year-old Poplar Bluff man was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, at the intersection of Fifth and Apple streets.

According to the report, Staci M. Hardcastle, 28, of Broseley was operating a 2017 Hyundai Sonata southbound on Fifth Street.

At the same time, Candice B. Henessee, 40, of the 1400 block of Big Bend Road was operating a 2001 Buick Century northbound on Fifth Street.

As Hardcastle’s vehicle traveled over a hill at the intersection of Fifth and Apple, Henessee allegedly was attempting to turn onto Apple, and the vehicles collided.

Hardcastle reported she traveled over the hill and saw Henessee’s vehicle, but was unable to stop.

Henessee told the officer she was trying to turn onto Apple.

The investigating officer noted Henessee allegedly was attempting to turn about 10 to 15 feet before the intersection. Henessee reportedly could not explain why she was turning before the intersection.

Henessee’s passenger, David McCawley of the 1000 block of Butler Street, was taken by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment.
